In the vineyard

Winter rainfall in 2020 resulted in good soil water levels available for the vines. A late and prolonged winter season led to late flowering; furthermore, Stellenbosch has consistently experienced cooler weather conditions throughout the season. Some rain during the spring and early summer months required meticulous management of the vineyard to prevent fungal diseases. Relatively cool conditions in December and January led to slow, gradual ripening, with exceptional aromatic concentration in the grapes, good acidity and low pH levels.
